Intermediate/Senior Architect
Location: Ottawa, ON
IDEA Inc. is an award winning multi-disciplinary architectural and engineering firm that provides integrated design services for a wide range of building types including commercial, industrial, residential, institutional and more.
We have an immediate opening for a full-time licensed architect with three or more years of experience. The ideal candidate is a hard-working and eager individual, who has relevant experience in the architectural field with a focus on unique and technically challenging projects. Proficiency in Revit is a must. The successful candidate will have extensive technical and detailing skills and be client service oriented. The ability to handle multiple projects at once, great organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, the ability to participate in presentations, time management skills and attention to detail as well as technical drawing and detailing skills are also essential.
Responsibilities & Duties:
+ Work with team in developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.
+ Perform site investigations/measures.
+ Develop designs for building systems including drawings and specifications.
+ Maintain and adhere to project budgets and schedule.
+ Prepare client presentations and present design concepts and drawings.
+ Ensure that construction detail documentation conforms to QA/QC and Best Practice standards.
+ Incorporate integrated sustainable design solutions into projects.
+ Participate in professional development; reviews and “Lessons Learned” sessions.
Qualifications & Skills:
+ Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
+ Minimum three years of experience.
+ OAA or OAQ registration.
+ Bilingualism as an asset.
+ Excellent working knowledge of Revit and Microsoft Office 365.
+ Having a solid understanding of the NBC and OBC.
+ Results oriented, accurate and thorough.
